About The London Burlesque & Cabaret Meetup Group

The London Cabaret and Burlesque meetup is a chance for professionals and non-professionals in the world of cabaret, burlesque, music hall and vaudeville to get together once a month.

Generally the mix of people includes performers, wannabee performers, musicians, singers, dancers, magicians, promoters, show producers, filmmakers, photographers, journalists, make-up artists, costume designers, event organisers, djs and many more. We expect around 80-100 at each event which will be held on the last Thursday of the month at our now regular fabulous haunt Madame Jojos.

In Talk to a Stranger Hour we hope that from the chats that happen performers will get paid work from the various event/show producers attending and that photographers will get interesting subjects in exchange for publicity pictures. We hope that collaborations will result between different types of performers and musicians so we we are helping to create a modern evolution of the music hall gendre.

There will be a show with a varied mix of 5-7 performers. Who will give you a glimpse of what they do and hope that you'll want to see more.

And we want people to really enjoy themselves in a really warm, fun and supportive atmosphere and that we all make some great new friends.
